Date: Nov 18, 2022 Stainless steel butterfly valve materials are mainly divided into and other stainless steel materials. However, the material on the valve body does often appear CF8MCF3M and so on. There are many customers because it is written on the contract that it is a butterfly valve: DN50, 304, 20 sets.

CF8M / 316 stainless steel is a modification of 304 stainless steel with the addition of 2.0% to 3.0% molybdenum to provide improved resistance to reducing corrosives and pitting attack by chlorides as found in seawater. Careful balance of the chemical composition strengthens this alloy to levels well above most specifications.
The most significant difference is that A351 has tensile property, inspection, and quality requirements not found in A743. A351 references A703 which in turn sets out the testing & analysis methods and requirements. A743 references A781, a general specification for casting used in non-pressurized applications.
Much depends on the soundness of the casting. It can be schrinkage free but still it's density will depend on the amount of feeding. That's why depending on the source, you will get different values. E.g. for CF-8M I found values between 7750 kg/m³ up to 8030 kg/m³. The only value I found for CK3MCuN was for it's wrought equivalent AVESTA
It is covered by ASTM A351 and ASTM A743, and ASTM A744 standard.
